A little about Kim Syrus

Kim Syrus is the South Australian face of gardening on the popular television program Channel 9 & GEM’s – The Garden Gurus along with a presenter on the travel program Gurus Explore.

He is also a regular contributor on 5AA garden talkback radio and current President of the Horticultural Media Association of SA.

Kim Syrus holds both an Advanced Diploma in Horticulture and a Diploma of Teaching, He is an active Nursery & Garden Industry of South Australia member and Managing Director of his nursery Corporate Roses and garden centre the Fleurieu Garden Centre (formerly Southern Plant Market), both located in the Fleurieu Peninsula town of Myponga.

Along with being one of Australia’s most respected rose experts, Kim is the Australian Agent for Meilland International, long regarded as one of the most influential of all rose breeders, Meilland International with over 100 years experience in their breeding programme. Known worldwide for their landmark ‘Peace’ rose in 1945, this highly acclaimed breeder along with Kim, have been responsible for some of Australia’s favourite garden roses including ‘Seduction’, ‘Pierre de Ronsard’, ‘Climbing Gold Bunny’,’ Mother’s Love’, ‘Father’s Love’ and recently ‘Child’s Love’

He also promotes his love of gardening, particularly the development and ongoing success of edible gardens through his many appearances to garden clubs and community events around South Australia and interstate, including the prestigious International Melbourne Flower and Garden Show.

Kim Syrus has written articles for many magazines, including Garden Gurus newspaper.
